Named after those fly tiers that owned a poor old collie dogs that looked bald. We have moved on as we like the Collies with their natural look and now use other synthetic hair materials. This Salmon double pattern is famed for its regular ability to produce fish on the most dogged of days. It can be skipped across the top of the streams or can be rolly polled or stripped and fished down and across. It is one of those pattern that you might see the Salmon/Grilse leaving the water looking like is has erupted and even sometimes the fly not even a touch. This is exciting 3D fishing at its best.
