AOL Cache Problems

The Cache Problem

Previously viewed pages are often stored in memory called the cache - this can help decrease download times when you revisit the page as it is delivered from memory rather than being downloaded again from the web.
This however means that you may not be seeing the latest version of the page, and so after the site has been closed and the checkout disabled, your browser can still think that the checkout is disabled - A problem that seems to be particularlycommon for AOL users

The quick solution is often to hold down the Ctrl key and press the F5 key, but if this doesn't work try the following:

Clearing the Cache

The instructions for clearing the cache if you are using the AOL browser are:

Clearing Your Browser Cache

AOL's built-in browser temporarily stores images and text from World Wide Web pages on your hard drive in a storage area called a cache. When the cache fills up, performance can slow down, and your hard drive may run out of space.
To clear the browser cache (Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and higher)
1. Click the Settings icon on the AOL toolbar.
2. In the Settings window, click Internet Settings.
3. In the Temporary Internet Files section, click Delete Files.

4. Click OK.
Note

Select Delete all offline content to remove Web material you have saved for off-line review.

if you are connecting to the web with AOL, but using Internet Explorer as a browser, the instructions for clearing the cache are

1 Select Tools - Internet Options - click on Delete Files

2 Tick the box that says Delete all offline content and then click OK

Shut Down and restart the browser, and when you revisit the site you should be able to navigate to all the pages as normal
