Let's face it, you can't beat the thrill of catching a fish on a fly that you've tied yourself. Of course not everybody has the skill needed to tie flies, and these days more and more of us simply don't have the time! |
| Fliesonline supplies quality flies at prices that compare favourably with the cheapest mail order prices - not an easy task, so how do we do it? |
| Well everyone knows that "you get what you pay for", so how can we sell for instance wet flies of this quality for only £0.35 ? | | |
| The simple answer is that we keep our overheads low, and economise where we can in order to sell you flies you can rely on.......... |
............not easy! One absolute fact is that in order to make good flies, you need quality materials, reliable hooks, and most importantly - skilled tiers. None of these come cheap. You don't get skilled tiers without paying top rates, so no savings to be made there. But because the strategy of supplying quality flies cheaply has been so successful, our production volumes are now so high that we are able to use the economy of scale to source the best materials and hooks, without having to increase our prices. |
However the main saving we make is by having Fliesonline completely web based. We have no retail premises, we don't produce a paper catalogue, and we don't run expensive ads in the fishing magazines. In fact one of the main savings is that our customers do part of the work for us. Rather than having to sort through handwritten orders, by the time you have placed an order on the site, a pick list is generated automatically, and all we have to do is pack the flies and send them to you. This lets us keep staff (and therefore costs) to a minimum, and again this lets us keep prices down. |

 | | Even fliesonline owner Ron gets to fishing sometimes | Customers often send us emails to say how surprised they were to receive their flies less than 24 hours after ordering..... .....our aim is to make buying from Fliesonline more convenient than going to a shop. We always try whenever possible to get the order out the day it arrives - obviously this will depend how busy we are, and how late the order is placed, but don't be surprised to receive an order placed at 4pm in the next morning's post. (assuming the Royal Mail do their part) Also whenever possible we will try and process some orders at the weekend so that even orders placed on a Saturday may well arrive on Monday. However we don't guarantee this as even we get to go fishing now and then! |
| All in all fliesonline aims to provide the best service possible, and we know from the feedback that we get that this is appreciated Tight Lines Ron |
